1954
Chevrolet Corvette. Multiple NCRS Top Flight Awards. Owned by 200 Level
NCRS Master Judge and former 14 year Bloomington Gold judge in the
53-55 Division. AACA Jr/Sr and VCCA Jr/Sr. Awards.
Frame off restoration completed in 1990 time frame. Repainted in
lacquer in approx. 1993. Driven approximately 600 miles in the past 15
years.
Polo White/Sportsman Red/Tan Top.
Original engine block discovered and re-installed approximately 6 years
ago. It was the subject of an article in the Corvette Restorer
Magazine, Winter 2000. It's a 911 block, cast C 1 4, 0375086 F54YG.
All numbers "match" except the following:
1. The powerglide trans is an original Corvette powerglide, but is not original to the car. It's dated E 3.
2. The top chrome ignition shielding is a custom fabricated piece, and does not have the M logo.
3. The cylinder head is a real original 241 head, but is dated after the assembly of the car. (can't see with valve cover on)
NICE correct, original car, which has scored 99+ at NCRS National meets.
It's got some slight paint crazing around the taillight pods, around
the exhaust donuts and on the top of the dashboard around the mirror.
Rock solid frame, nice body, everything works, including the clock and Wonderbar radio.
I've got several old Corvettes, and this one is rarely driven. It's time to let it go. I've owned it for 26 years. |
