1953 Chevrolet Corvette, vin number 103, the
car has been restored by Jeff's Resurrections in Taylor, TX.
The paint and body have been restored to Pebble Beach
concours standards. All other aspects of the car have been
restored to NCRS standards (numbers, date codes, fasteners, etc).
Jeff's Resurrections is one of the top restoration shops in the country
and recently restored the hemi 'Cuda that broke all auction
records for the highest $$$ ever paid for a hemi 'Cuda
coupe (over $1M). Their work is perfection and many have told me
this is the nicest '53 Vette they have ever seen. One example
of the quality of this car is the attention to detail in
the paint and body process. Over 40 unique steps were used in the
process and the laquer paint is flawless. Another example is the
bumpers being hand fitted to the car during the copper stage of the
rechroming process. One last example is the detail that
went into restoring the spiral shocks. A total of 20 hours went into
the process and you can't tell them from new. I can go on and
on and on.
Other
details: the hubcaps are NOS, the window curtains have been
restored by Steve Newsome, the numbers matching engine,
head, transmission, wiper motor, starter, master cylinder,
steering column, steering wheel, carburators, gauges, clock,
radiator, Wonderbar radio and speaker/power pack, interior, mirrors,
softtop frame and canvas, chrome and britework, etc, etc have all
been rebuilt or restored to impecable standards.
This car is in the final assembly stage and will be completed in the next 3 to 4 months. You are bidding on the completed car
(100% complete). If you are looking for a museum quality restoration,
this is the car for you. Over 2000 hours have gone into the car (up to
this point) and not a single shortcut has been taken.
The car is
currently titled in Texas and will never be driven. I have titles and
history of the car back to 1961 including the original vin plate. Also,
this car was one of the '53 Vettes to be included in the plaque that
Joe Pike created in the 1970's.
Please
email me for additional details. Serious bidders and inquiries only. A
down payment of $25,000 will be due within 72 hours of the
end of the auction and the balance will be due at the completion of the
car.
Buyer is responsible for shipping the car from Austin TX.
