1954 Chevrolet Corvette
A 1954 Corvette that has been in the hands of the second owner since 1965. It has not moved under its own power since then.
When it was still on the road, the original engine and transmission were removed, and the car was given a 3 speed stick shift, converted from the original 2 speed automatic.
The Blue Flame 6 was painted Chevy orange, and then put back in place.
From our estimate of the parts inventory, about 90 percent of the original car still exist.
Even the date tag on the seat bottom is preserved.
There is a new exhaust system, and some additional spares, shown in our images.
Among the items that we know are missing are the 4 hubcaps, rear tail light assemblies, rear plate trim and plastic cover, spare tire and tools, and some trim pieces.
One side window frame is rough, as are some of the bumperettes.
The front grille has one minor crack that was mended on the surround.
The radio still exists, as do the knobs for that, and most of the other controls.
The original shifter is gone, and the heater blower housing is rusty past usable.
The undercarriage, chassis and suspension is remarkably intact, with only some minor rust and scaling.
The body, including the hood, doors, deck lid, gas door and cowl vent are all pretty straight.
The top and frame is dirty, but still intact, and would probably clean up.
There is an extra starter and generator, and other extras as well.
The windshield and surround are good.
The seats survived incredibly intact.
We have the original key, and we will try to answer any questions not answered by the photos that we took.
The engine turns, the drive train is intact, and it is an easy rolling chassis.
We invite comments.
